IESM: Chairman's Desk

Date: Friday, 15 May, 2009, 11:49 PM
Dear Colleagues,
In a few hours from now the election results will start coming in. The nail- biting will end. The poll predictions and speculations will all be put to test. In the coming days, when the political climate clears, we will also know what direction to follow for pursuit of OROP.
Best regards,
Lt Gen (Emeritus) Raj Kadyan, PVSM, AVSM, VSM
Chairman IESM

Mandate 2009
2009 elections started off with a thump– impatience with the status quo and need for change- political parties and politicians to start behaving more responsibly, differently, patriotically and honestly! It is clear that status quo has continued– lower turnout, criminals participation, tickets to renowned corrupt ministers and gender bias– no change at all! And so friends, its likely that we will be presented with more of the same on 16th May– deal making in various corridors of Delhi and issues like change, democratic mandate, election manifesto, all likely to be forgotten and ignored! If that happens hope we don’t just sit around silently and allow it to happen! Citizens need to be proactive to safeguard the security of the nation. Who else is more suited for this leading role than the Ex- Servicemen?
