Dear Colleagues,
The Jantar mantar venue in under the charge of local team from Gurgaon.
Visits
Gen Satbir, Gen Pravesh Renjen and Col Bhardwaj visited Lucknow today. The relatively low strength of attendees (Approx 150) was more than made up by their heightened gusto.
Political Shenanigans
I did not watch TV the whole day (was out to Rohtak). Was telephonically informed by Gen SBS Kochar that Shri Advani was announcing that if voted to power they would give OROP. In related developments in the evening, on urging of Air Commodore Chandrasekhar (father of Rajiv Chandrasekhar, MP who has been actively supporting OROP and who led the march in Bangalore March 15 while depositing medals) I spoke with Advani’s political coordinator to learn that Shri Advani wants to visit Jantar Mantar and wishes to make the announcement publicly from that platform. I have suggested he visit Wednesday, Mar 18. I do hope he makes a definite commitment that they WILL give OROP and within....weeks/ months of assuming power. Let us wait and watch.
Best regards,
Lt Gen (Emeritus) Raj Kadyan, PVSM, AVSM, VSM
